The Bell Tolls for Thee! [Death Rules]
Death; death is something that the Grail Wars are known for - whether it be the mandatory killing of other servants in an attempt to fill up the grail or the killing of other masters in an attempt to avoid them staying in the game, death has long since plagued the periods that the Grail Wars functioned in. The entire time is bathed in a sea of blood, and nobody can ignore the tragedy that comes with it.
That being said, as nobody enjoys having their character stolen from them unfairly, death rules are rather stringent on FE. To kill another player, not only do you have to give them a Terminal wound or a series of wounds that add up to Terminal, but you have to register a death request for your opponent. This is done by filling out the form below and posting it up in the requests area, just as you would a request to conquer a country or a request to exceed stat caps.
But what happens if you're the one to die? Well, sorry to say this, but once your character is dead that's it - the throne of heroes is broken so you're never coming back unless you're friends with a caster or mage with amazing healing capabilities. On the plus side, it's not as if your hours spent writing for your character is completely lost - After death, you keep a percentage of your EXP linked to your amount of Fate Points. They are as follows:
E: 5%
D: 10%
C: 20%
B: 30%
A: 45%
EX: 60%
This amount of EXP is added on top of the amount that you're quoted for in your app. So, let's say you have B-tier luck and had earned 3,000 EXP on top of your amount you're quoted for in your original app. You're given 1000 EXP on top of your app's amount.
---
The other thing to question about is why you would want to kill your opponent in the first place. After all, if they cede the fight, you've won regardless and you get the results from the fight that you wanted, so surely only monsters would steal other people's characters? Well, no, in fact. We want you to kill each other!
Due to the fact that many sites become stagnant with characters staying around for years, we give incentives to kill other characters. Or, at least, kill people who're fair game. There is one exception to the bonus system: Characters are worth absolutely nothing in their first two months of existence, as they haven't had time to be built properly to defend themselves. After two months, however, they're free game, and the reward grows exponentially the tougher the opponent is.
2 Ranks Superior: +250 EXP
1 Rank Superior: +150 EXP
Same Rank: + 100 EXP
1 Rank Lower: +50 EXP
>1 Rank Lower: Nothing. You may kill these people if they attempt to conquer your home territory or if you have some sort of grudge IC, but death requests will be viewed very harshly and you will get no incentive for hunting people who couldn't fight back.
