Kamiizumi Nobutsuna (WIP) Kamiiz10

Ruthlessness is the kindness of the wise

Name: Kamiizumi Ise-no-kami Fujiwara-no-Nobutsuna | Kamiizumi Musashi-no-Kami | Ōgo Musashi-no-Kami | Kamiizumi Hidetsuna.
Date of Birth: Born c. 1508?
Date of Death: After 1572 CE of an undetermined time, date, and circumstance.
Apparent Age: 35 year old appearance.
Gender: Manly male.

Height & Weight: 6'0" feet, weighing about 180 lbs.
Hair & Eye Color: Brown eyes, black hair.
Blood Type: B-
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral.
Sexuality: Heterosexual.

Servant Class: Saber (Subclass: Lancer).
Servant Status: Feral.
Base of Legend: Sengoku era Japan.
Origin: Fervour. The need that defined Kamiizumi's life subtly as to persevere within one direction without lax or fail, as it has time and time again driven him to heights great upon an entropic heat-like obsession over change and dynamism, almost never one to be tethered to the anchor of finality such as death, and to instead impart it unto others in kind, Kamiizumi does things fivefolds over normality as a result. Though nascent an influence, it harbored his nature as a man who deigned to get things done, as time and time again in his life it has been proven, regardless of dishonour or honour within the equation. He is a man above the lofty ideals of the common man, and must persevere with sheer fervour at the time, and commit to his decisions without waver, lest he is overcome. The only fire in his passion kindled with sheer spirit of the matter.

Physical Appearance: The top of Kamiizumi is composed of a head, natural as all those that assume a humanoid shape, with brownish chocolate eyes, a rather tanned skin from years of travel on the road, and distinctly a lack of any scars on his general figure that either suggests a life of comfort or merely a lack of combat. Those two are untrue as it belays Kamiizumi's life to be one without any significant contradiction on his being as to impose such scars in the first place from combat, the rest do not detract from his appearance. He has a rather wavy hair that reaches to his neck, unkept from any topknots or the like whenever he wears his chainmail helmet held together by an iron crown worn on his head given how messy it tends to unravel and tangle when worn affixed into such a style. Whenever Kamiizumi smiles, it comes out crooked, similar to a shape of a smirk, which is what it is often mistaken for. His face though on the other hand is rather bland and mild in appearance, largely forgettable due to how common his countenance is in terms of average qualities it has, but it is offset by his stature on the other hand.

As he possesses all the qualities of a human being that constitute a body, further things go to show that his chest is rippling with musculature, a representation of grit and dedication alike as it is bristling with sheer tone. The abdomens are riveted with shallow valleys as to show the tone, with his back even more so well defined that it is often compared to seeing bare muscles when skin is worn over it as a result of training. His arms are moderately inflated with muscles as well, a healthy mix of power and stamina in between with the biggest emphasis being around his forearms, and especially the contraction in regards to his wrist. His knuckles are bulbous and thick strangely enough, and calloused with leathery-like feeling to the touch. His fingers on the other hand are long and spidery, suited towards dexterity in an amalgamation of such strange qualities that dictate his build as a warrior.

The same can be said of his legs being built to impose scathing damage when tolling with kicks upon the opposition as much as have the speed and stamina to last long, proof of his life that he lived in a time of great turmoil where physical rigors were to be experienced whenever carrying heavy armor and armaments alike, to fight and to still retain stamina in spite of the fatigue that comes out of warfare. Evidence that Kamiizumi is not a mere duelist, but also a warrior as much as a warlord when need be.

Overall, his body is a weapon and instrument as much as his own tools, trained and mended with in mind the training to persist throughout his life as to perform with sheer excellence with no deviation as a diligent warmonger. The manner of which he carries himself is so to say, 'loose', restrained at the same time as well despite the paradox, with not a single step or movement unnecessary nor wasted. Everything is measured unconsciously for the most optimal manner when needed, easily breaking into any readiness as he carries himself with boisterous pride, and an aura of arrogance to tinge it further. It helps that Kamiizumi does not come from peasant stock, and has accomplishments to boot as to propel him into such thought processes inflected through his motions.

Attire: Kamiizumi wears on his head as a manner of hatwear a form of relatively minor protection, meant to protect from skewering rather than stabbing or bludgeoning. A circlet of iron attached to a chainmail coif laden with interlocked myriads of many rings made of iron, also made of metal. It bears the high quality make of the Kōzuke province where battles were far more intensive than the rest of Japan, thus protection was especially thirsted for. Though it bears the unusual quality of being a coif rather than a proper helmet, perhaps as an attribute to Nobutsuna's own preferences of protection over being 'freer'.

His torso is drabbed in a standard Yoroi Katabira for a shirt apparel of teal colour, comfy and all that, as he also has one further with a monk's robe worn over it similar to a Haori and a coat, adjusted to be open from the center rather than having the need to close it fully. The robe's sleeves reaches to his mid-forearms, whereas his shirtwear is fastened and inserted into his bracers worn over most of his forearms ending at the joint. It is also made of iron from the top with many segmented compartmentalization, particularly from the wrist area, as to allow bending. Held together by a simple ring worn from the middle finger, and adorned on both manipulator extremities of both forearms. Underneath his coat and over his Yoroi Katabira stitched to the apparel is also a light breastplate that ends at the waist, and held together by several bindings. Once again, it is a mixture and combination of segmented iron and lacquered leather top, held together by a shoulder strap also worn underneath his robes. It covers his entire torso from underneath his collar, with the rest of his back covered with horizontal segmentation, as to allow bending. The same could also be said of the front, that overall, it's made in a lamellar fashion.

Underneath on his lower body, he wears a tiger striped fundoshi with the same camouflage pattern as a tiger. Over that, a Hakama, that the Kimono is inserted into past the hem as it covers the side slits. It is fastened with knots, followed by an Obi Sash, also tiger strip pattern, where two scabbards are worn on his left waist, between the Obi Sash and the waistline. The lower Hakama sleeve is fastened with an overlapping Kyahan, as it feeds into the mouth of the Kegutsu foot wear. Though strangely enough, Kamiizumi prefers to wear leather boots more often than not that the Nanban have come to introduce to a limited spread in Japan. Though not as much a dandy as Nobunaga Oda or a Kabukimono like Keiji Maeda, it still suits him fine all the same. As a result, he'd manifest with leather boots rather than Kegutsu or Kyahan, as to be worn overlapping over the Hakama's sleeves, making it loosely baggy, but nonetheless suited for combat.

Consider the magnitude of your duty at leisure, but act with hesitation when action is required

Virtues

  • Insightful: For what lay yonder in twain his cunning, Kamiizumi is a man of perception from years of practice and experience to boot, deriving it such from his life as a man of worldly travels around Japan. Though then again, his insightfulness also comes from having fought a plethora of adversaries, seeing different molds and results, that he would realize exactly what traits define a person, their aspirations, and their goals from what can be glanced off the surface of a person, only to kill them afterwards.

  • Cunning: Kamiizumi is led not by baser restraints of virtues that be out of benevolent restraint, but rather finds himself achieving his ends through deceit or elusive manners to have the same effects at a much more expedient manner. In that sense, he has undertaken many actions in life as one which can be seen as dishonorable, such as surrender of a castle without ever committing Seppuku, and how easily he switched sides and found himself attacking the same clan he had entered into service of. Ultimately acting as a General for three clans, and coming up top prosperously ahead. It is not to say deception was the only manner of cunning he had used, but guile and craftiness alike, for situations that warranted its usage.

  • Liberal: What standards other people of the Land of the Rising Sun hold dearly to life, Kamiizumi does not. His appreciation for these restraints are only as deep as how far he could throw a fat person across a field with an improper posture. It is not to say he is without etiquette, but rather he only harbors some veneration to the more philosophical and abstract concepts commonly expressed in his school, rather than Bushido overall, and especially common sense. There is no price worth paying if it meant that needless deaths are to be reaped, and furthermore, when other more economical factors appear at play.

  • Scholarly: For what exists a man in Sengoku Jidai of the learned Samurai class, that they come out ignorant for the years vested within the spheres of knowledge? As any proper Samurai, and more importantly, Daimyo of the time, Kamiizumi is a scholar-warrior, one who has been informed in the likes of philosophy all the way to history and even literature. It is not unusual to say that Kamiizumi knows of Japanese, and even more importantly, Chinese history at heart, particularly and especially later on in life, having intimate knowledge of Sun Tzu's Art of War due to his patron, Takeda Shingen, pontificating over it in many occasions, as an example. In spite of his slight distaste for the man's blather, Kamiizumi is an avowed historian and investor in fables, legends, and myths as interesting reading, with a plethora of many more to come.

Vices:

  • Aloof: There is little to attach Kamiizumi to any particular figures, whether as a liege, or as a vassal alike, given neither of those interest the man in dedicating himself to a life full of service unto others, if only excepted by a brief tenure followed by a longer period of wanderlust. Kamiizumi is ultimately disinterested in commitment and attachment alike to all but a singular entity worthy of service, and even then, he is given free reins in this regard which allows him his whimsical ways to go without the trepidation of loss of freedom.

  • Anachronistic ethics: Kamiizumi is not a modern man, he comes from an era where the idea of what is considered proper is to serve with rectitude, diligence, and zealous loyalty. Though he follows such ideals to an abstract and far ranged manner, he is principled nonetheless in the idea of commitment without ever wavering from a soft heart. As a result, he views a lack of principle, or commitment as something feeble and weak, and abhors it wholly, and in the same grain, admires and appreciates one who commits themselves in spite of adversity faced in question. Not exactly a mindset held in the modern age where an entitlement complex and the weak idea of banking on government to serve one's self, as opposed to serving the government in full capacity. But then again, there is only one that Kamiizumi calls the true liege lord, as none others qualified in spite of having three to call his liege, he never felt they earned his true fealty.

  • Moody: A case of mood swings that tends to fluctuate as time goes, perhaps associated with Kamiizumi's own perpetual lust for always trying to achieve something, only to change the pace at another minute. He is tempermental, prone towards swings of his feelings, and as a result, is not to have trust or investment in such things as feelings. Often times bored, brooding over some imagined wrongs, or some achievement yet to have been reached in his life, the man varies in his swings. Thought to be schizophrenic.

  • Jingoistic: For the Emperor, a thousand deaths will gladly be spilled, and for Japan, a million. Kamiizumi supports the idea of Samurai, and Feudal Repression alike, for equally comes the even worse alternative of subjugation, damnation, oblivion, or annihilation. None of these are favorable, so for one to rise, others must fall. A mindset, though not largely codified by the man to be something as well planned out as Tenka Fubu, still exists lingering within Kamiizumi to a nascent degree prevalent in his mindset. It is directly related to his archaic mindset, that for peace to ever be achievable, one must readily make use of warfare. This is especially true in the Sengoku Period, where warlords were numerous, and peace hung on a paper thin margin, easily ejected when it suited the whim of other Daimyo.

  • Chauvinistic: It goes without saying that a certain expectation is levied unto the female members of the human species, given cultural norms of the time, as to tend to the household whilst the men are out warring. They are also expected to bear children, and perform diligently as the perfect housewives. Kamiizumi has a dim view on females acting outside their station, trying to take on the roles of a man, and an especially further scathing view on those that try to emulate men in tasks of warfare. He has no appreciation for women whom jeopardize this tradition with their woeful ways.

  • Dare Devil: As a result of a long life lived out of being brought out to his utmost best in situations where legitimately he can feel threatened, Kamiizumi has developed a rather quint attachment to the idea of being alive through being at face with anything that has the smallest potential of death. He loves the idea of danger, it emboldens him and heightens him into realms high with sheer contentment. As a result, he feels comforted and at home in the battlefield, and even seems to initiate such dispensed moments of bloodied action where served his needs to feel alive. This has endowed him with a sense of audacious blasé attitude about life in general, conforming to his own ideals and accepting the idea his actions may espouse conflict at a moment's notice from words misspoken ill of others, whether intentional or unintentional.
