Faction | The Yggdrasil Foundation
A sad fact of the world is that we are slowly moving towards a point of no return in reference to the devastation of our planet. Global warming, climate change, the ice-caps melting, and nobody seems to care one single jot about it. Despite the fact that we could make clean energy burning rubbish, we insist on burning fossil fuels because it's convenient and we're ruining the only world we have for the sake of our own laziness.
However, every now and then, some people emerge who seriously want to combat this atrocious attack on our eco-system. Some people, like Al Gore, simply attempt to win hearts and minds and seduce them into changing their ways. Yggdrassil is, however, a lot less optimistic in their worldview and are a lot more pragmatic, doing whatever it takes to be able to save the world that they're living on.
The Yggdrasil Foundation is a charity dedicated to saving the planet on the outside, but in reality they're a group of highly motivated soldiers, mages, and politicians willing to go to any lengths, abuse any technology (sanctioned by the church and mage association or not) and perpetrate any act as long as it brings them one step closer towards their goal - keeping the earth alive and saving the human race.
Unlike the other groups that rely on open shows of militarism, whether it be through sheer numbers or through aggressive troop movements, this faction relies on stealth and underhanded tactics to get closer to the grail, attempting to keep their actions a secret and keep under the radar of the other groups. As such, this is the group most likely to have a high proportion of archers and assassins.
Led by Senator Adam Richardson, this group is full of master manipulators and people who're willing to go to any ends to achieve their goal. What little "army" they actually have is led by Lord Tomas, an ex-mage association lord who appears to have brought more than a few illegal tricks and traps to his new home. Though little is known about him, it is rumored that he is one of the few mages in the war so far to have killed a servant on his own. He is truly a man not to be trifled with.
---
The part of the grail that this group supposedly wields is the base, the very stand of the grail itself, and it is said to be held at the Ygdrassil headquarters in New York. However, considering that very few people actually believe the rumors about the Ygdrassil Foundation, this is likely either just speculation or someone attempting to inspire an attack against the company. Who would just leave something so precious so open to the public?
